ABOUT ME
My name is Lilia Tavares, I’m a 24-year-old Pediatric Medical Assistant, Certified CPR Instructor, Nursing Student, and local Miss America Organization titleholder driven by a commitment to enhancing community safety and emergency response. My passion for sharing CPR education began when I took my first steps into the medical field at age 16 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Since then, I’ve maintained my CPR certification annually, coming to the realization that so many individuals outside of the world of medicine lacked access to and awareness of this vital training.
My mission is simple: to make CPR education accessible to as many people as possible and to ensure widespread availability of Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs). Every certification class, every defibrillator placed in a public space, and every individual empowered with life-saving skills is a step towards a safer, more prepared community.
Outside of my initiative, I enjoy Olympic Weightlifting, figure skating, creating art, spending time near the ocean, being with my family (including my standard poodle), and collecting experiences as a solo traveler. I hope to be an individual who uses my passions and talents to serve my community and my Savior, fostering a sense of safety, resilience and vitality.
Thank you so much for taking a moment to familiarize yourself with these crucial life-saving skills and empowering yourself with emergency preparedness. I believe that communities are made safer by individuals, like yourself, taking just a few minutes to equip themselves with this essential knowledge.
